Things I Almost Didn't Post

There's a specific feeling I get right before I post something real. Not the polished stuff - the real stuff. My finger hovers and I think: too much. Too honest. Too close.

Then I post it anyway. And those are always the ones that land.

The delete-and-repost cycle

I have maybe 200 photos on my camera roll right now that will never see the internet. Not because they're bad. Because they're too good. The lighting was weird and perfect. My face looked like I was thinking about something I wasn't ready to share. You know the ones.

Instagram trained me to only post the version of myself I'm comfortable with. Smile a certain way. Angle a certain way. Keep it aspirational, keep it moving.

That's not why I started doing this.

What I actually want to share

I want to share the photo from 2am after a shoot where I'm still in half the makeup and I look genuinely tired and genuinely myself. I want to share the one where the light was doing something insane and I barely had time to set the timer. The ones where nothing was planned.

Those don't go on Instagram. Those go somewhere else.
